Ann Arbor, Michigan, a leader in the deployment of LED streetlights, is soliciting bids to replace 250 high pressure sodium fixtures with LED streetlights.

The Michigan Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth recently signed contracts with municipal grantees of the Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program. Through this program, which funds Michigan LED Demonstration Grants, the city of Ann Arbor, Michigan, was awarded $218,712.

Ann Arbor has issued an Invitation to Bid to replace 250 existing high pressure sodium (HPS) fixtures with LED cobra head fixtures. The Type II LED fixtures will be used to replace existing 100 watt HPS streetlights. Manufacturers responding to the bid will be required to provide photometric performance data, LM-79 and LM-80 test reports and warranty information.

Bids must be received by May 3, 2010, and the contract will be awarded to the lowest qualified and responsive bidder.

The invitation to bid is located here.
