The California Energy Commission (CEC) is reviewing numerous LED streetlight proposals from small cities and counties in California that have applied for stimulus funds.

Many of the LED streetlight proposals include direct purchase of LED fixtures and are part of larger funding requests related to energy efficiency projects.

The source of funds will be the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program of the U.S. Department of Energy.

Approval of the proposed projects, listed below, is expected on May 12, 2010.
