Madison, Alabama, re-issues RFP for decorative LED streetlights
Tuesday, June 7, 2011
By New Streetlights staff
The city of Madison, Alabama recently rejected all bids which were solicited for a twenty-five decorative LED streetlight installation. According to city officials, all submitted bids were unreasonably high and were therefore considered unacceptable by the city of Madison evaluation committee. The city is seeking bids to supply and install twenty-five Holophane decorative LED streetlights, and for the removal and disposal of existing area lights in the Madison Public Library parking lot and in the Public Works parking lot. Although the bid specifies Holophane LED fixtures, bidders may submit bids for equivalent LED fixtures.
A Request for Proposals (RFP) to re-bid the project was issued on May 31, 2011. Complete plans and specifications for the RFP are available from the city of Madison here.
A pre-bidders meeting is scheduled for June 7, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Completed bids are due on June 21 at 10:15 a.m. and can be mailed to the City of Madison, 100 Hughes Road, Madison, Alabama, 35758.
