Nether Providence Township, Pennsylvania, issues RFP for 417 LED streetlights or induction streetlights

The township of Nether Providence, Pennsylvania, is seeking bids to replace its current inventory of streetlights with fixtures using either LED or induction technology. The project is funded by an award from the US Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program and local township funds.
The Request for Proposals (RFP) is soliciting bids for the replacement of over 400 existing mercury vapor and high pressure sodium (HPS) streetlights. The existing streetlights range from 70 watt HPS to 400 watt mercury vapor. The township currently has 379 mercury vapor fixtures and 38 HPS fixtures. According to the bid document, bids will be considered for either or both LED streetlight fixtures and induction streetlight fixtures. Complete fixture and project specifications can be found in the bid document. An option bid for installation of the new fixtures will also be accepted.
Complete proposals must be submitted to the Nether Providence Township office of the Assistant Township Manager by May 11, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. EST. All questions related to the RFP should be directed to Mr. Dennis Sheehan, Assistant Township Manager, dsheehan@netherprovidence.org.
