Palo Alto, California, seeks bids for 2,655 LED streetlight fixtures

The city of Palo Alto, California, has issued an Invitation to Bid for the removal of existing high pressure sodium (HPS) cobrahead streetlights and the subsequent supply and installation of LED streetlights. The projected number of LED streetlights is estimated to be 2,655 and bids may only include fixtures manufactured by GE, Philips, Cooper, Leotek or approved equivalents. Photometric requirements include a correlated color temperature (CCT) of 4300+/-300 Kelvin and a color rendering index (CRI) greater than or equal to 70.
A mandatory pre-bidders meeting is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. PST on January 5, 2012, at the Utilities Department in Palo Alto, California. According to the bid document, bidders who fail to attend the meeting will be deemed non-responsive.
