RFP issued by Holdrege, Nebraska, for 470 LED streetlights

The city of Holdrege, Nebraska has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the purchase of 470 LED streetlight fixtures to replace existing high pressure sodium (HPS) and mercury vapor streetlights. The bid document does provide for the potential purchase of additional fixtures subject to prices of submitted bids. The city will provide labor for the installation of the new LED fixtures. This opportunity is funded by an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) and local matching funds. The award total is $343,029.
Bid specifications require that the LED fixtures meet all standards and requirements set forth by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
The city of Holdrege intends to install the LED fixtures in five phases, beginning with the 250 watt fixtures, then the 175 watt fixtures, and concluding with the 150 watt fixtures. The successful bidder must supply the first order by January 2011, and the final order by October 31, 2011.
