The city and county of San Francisco, California, has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the purchase of 19,800 LED streetlight fixtures equipped with wireless monitoring and control systems. Goals of the LED streetlight program are to reduce energy consumption and reduce labor costs due to the longer life of LED fixtures. Only city-owned streetlights are currently targeted for replacement.
An optional pre-proposal conference is scheduled for Thursday, April 21 at 9:00 a.m. and will be held at the San Francisco City Hall, Room 400.
According to the bid document, bidders will be evaluated and selected in a four phase process that involves assessment of: (1) minimum qualifications; (2) product; (3) project approach; and (4) oral review of the bidder’s response. Complete details and project specifications are available in the bid document.
Completed proposals must be received by Friday, May 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the City and County of San Francisco Office of Contract Administration – Purchasing Division. The complete RFP is available here.
