Solano County, California, seeks bidders for LED streetlight replacement program

Solano County, California, will use a $112,319 federal grant to replace existing streetlights with LED streetlight fixtures.
As part of an Energy Assistance Technology Program (EATP), Solano County received a $112,319 grant from the US Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program. The state program is locally administered by the California Energy Commission. The project involves the purchase of approximately 50 pole-mounted LED fixtures as well as parking garage fixtures.
The existing pole mounted lights targeted for replacement are 150 watt, 250 watt and 400 watt metal halide fixtures. The installation of the fixtures will be across the county’s parking lots and parking garages. For the pole-mounted LED fixtures, the bid document specifies fixtures manufactured by BetaLED, a division of Cree/Ruud Lighting of Sturtevant, Wisconsin; Cooper Lighting, of Peachtree City, Georgia; Lighting Science Group, of Satellite Beach, Florida; or approved equivalent fixtures approved by the Design Lights Consortium.
The county’s bid document provides detailed project specifications including photometric performance which includes a correlated color temperature (CCT) of ≤5,700K, a color rendering index (CRI) = 50, and a five year full replacement warranty.
Vendors must be able to deliver all fixtures by February 10, 2012, in order to comply with EATP guidelines. Completed bids must be submitted to Solano County by Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. PST. The Invitation for Bids can be found here.
