 Install 1,100 LED streetlights. Replace existing 150 watt, 250

 watt and 400 watt HPS fixtures. LED fixtures are 140 watt

 equivalent for 250 watt replacement and 103 watt equivalent

 for 150 watt replacement.

 

Pilot

 Department of Traffic Safety tested LED, induction and HPS

 fixtures.

 Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG)

Long term initiative

 Town of Smithtown has a goal of replacing all remaining HPS

 streetlights with LED fixtures. City will invest $500,000 in next

 year for energy efficient streetlighting.
