Additional initiatives District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is beginning Phase 2 of a Smart Lighting Study legislated by the Council of the District of Columbia Council. Phase 2 will test 150 watt and higher sample LED fixtures in lab settings and on the street. Includes roadway and decorative pedestrian lighting.
Long term initiatives The D.C. Action Agenda has a core goal of sustainable streets and the long term goals is to replace all District streetlights with LEDs, depending on availability of funding
