University of Pittsburgh Comparative Life Cycle Assessment of Four Major Streetlight Technologies

 

A comparative life cycle assessment of four major streetlight technologies—high-pressure sodium (HPS), metal halide (MH), induction, and light-emitting diode (LED)—was conducted by researchers at the University of Pittsburgh.

 

The paper was developed for the city council of Pittsburgh to assist them in evaluating streetlight technology for a 40,000 fixture retrofit.
