The State of Minnesota received an allocation of approximately $10.6 million in stimulus funding from the Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants EECBG program.

The Minnesota Department of Commerce Office of Energy Security is currently reviewing proposals from small cities and counties. Eligible projects include LED streetlight replacement. The proposals are due January 25, 2010, and according to state officials, LED streetlight projects are expected to be a likely award request.

[UPDATE]

The Minnesota Department of Commerce Evaluation Team expects to announce the grant awards by mid-March 2010.
