Sunnyvale, California, issues $1.143MM RFP for LED streetlights or other energy efficient lighting

The city of Sunnyvale, California has issued an RFP valued at $1,142,500 for converting existing city-owned and maintained high pressure sodium (HPS) streetlights to energy efficient streetlights. Responses to the RFP are due by June 2, 2010. Bid documents can be downloaded at DemandStar.
Below is a partial overview of the specifications required by Sunnyvale.
General information proposals must include: 2) Removal and disposal plans, 3) Plans for installation of luminaires, 4) Notifications and related work required, 5) “As built” drawings, 6) Proof of compliance with all laws, and 7) Proof that alternate (i.e., non-LED) energy efficient technologies achieve the goals of the project.
Detailed information required in the proposals includes: 1) Photometric analysis, 2) Luminaire efficacy, 3) Lumen depreciation, 4) Luminaire classification and light distribution, 5) Maximum system wattage (including driver loss), 6) Correlated color temperature (CCT) and color rendering index (CRI) values, 7) Power supply and driver requirements, 8) Mechanical requirements, 9) Factory installed options, 10) Photoelectric controls requirements, and 11) Fixture specifications.
