Iowa receives $9.6 million in Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants

The US Department of Energy has awarded $9.6 million in Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants (EECBG) to the State of Iowa.
A portion of the funds will be used to deploy LED streetlights.
Officials expect to announce city-specific awards in March 2010.
