The city of Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the purchase of decorative LED streetlights and poles for a new planned subdivision. The Electric Light and Power Department designs and installs streetlights systems for the city. However, in the case of the proposed project, the department is allowing the developer to select poles and fixtures as long as illumination and performance specifications are met. The proposed plan includes 110 LED streetlights and poles for local road and 40 LED streetlights and poles for collector roads.
According to the bid document, the developer has indicated a preference for a hanging fixture, such as a globe, bell, or carriage lantern style including an appropriate decorative streetlight pole. Photographs of the preferred styles are included in the bid document. Selected requirements include a correlated color temperature (CCT) of 4,000K – 5,000K, a color rendering index (CRI) of ≥70, and LM-79 and LM-80 reports. Bidders may also be asked to furnish a sample fixture for evaluation.
Complete bids must be submitted to the City of Red Deer by Wednesday, June 26, 2013. Questions and requests for clarification may be submitted to Ran Li at firstname.lastname@example.org. The bid document can be found here.
