The city of Haverhill, Massachusetts, has issued an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the purchase and installation of LED streetlights and fixtures. The city initiated a streetlight management program in 2011 to assess cost savings and energy management through conversion to LED streetlight technology and during that time used federal funds to install over one hundred new LED streetlights. The upcoming project is focused on replacing approximately sixty existing high pressure sodium (HPS) streetlights with decorative post-top LED streetlight fixtures.
The purchase of the post top LED fixtures is being bid separately from the installation portion of the project. According to the bid document, prevailing wages for installation are governed by the Davis Bacon Act. The LED luminaires will be selected and supplied to the successful bidder.
According to the bid document, the LED post-top luminaire specified for bid is manufactured by U.S. Architectural Lighting of Palmdale, California. However, products that meet or exceed the specifications listed in the IFP will also be considered. Product specifications include a correlated color temperature of ±250 Kelvin as well as LM-79 and LM-80 reports. Bidders must also provide a listing of five projects where the submitted LED fixture has been installed.
Completed bids for both the purchase and installation must be submitted to the city of Haverhill by Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. EST. Requests for clarification or questions related to the bid must be submitted to email@example.com by 2:00 p.m. EST on October 9, 2012. The complete bid documents can be found here.
