The California Energy Commission (CEC) is now accepting applications for low interest loans to fund energy efficient projects, including LED streetlights. Eligible cities and counties interested in pursuing LED streetlight projectss may seek up to a maximum of $3 million at 1% interest. There is no minimum loan amount.
Terms of the loans include a seventeen year payback for approved projects. Loans must be repaid within a maximum of twenty years from the savings as a result of the energy efficient project.
Loans are evaluated and approved as they are submitted to the California Energy Commission on a first come, first served basis.
