Through its Downtown Development Authority (DDA), the city of Gibraltar will deploy the community’s first installation of LED streetlights in its downtown business district. The project, funded through a grant from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), includes the purchase and installation of sixty-one complete ornamental post-top LED retrofit kits from LED Optical Solutions or other vendors able to provide products with equivalent specifications.
The fixtures will be installed on Middle Gibraltar Road and at the Gibraltar Municipal Complex and will replace existing high pressure sodium (HPS) streetlights.
