The Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities (IAMU) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the purchase of LED streetlights for their participating member communities. The LED streetlights will be used to replace existing high pressure sodium (HPS) cobrahead streetlights. The member utilities will place orders for LED streetlight luminaires through the IAMU, which has greater purchasing power through economies of scale, and can pass on the savings. The IAMU estimates that it will purchase approximately 4,900 LED streetlight luminaires as part of this RFP, and approximately 4,900 photocontrols for the new fixtures.
According to the bid document, the approved LED streetlight luminaires include:
American Electric Lighting; Cooper Lighting; Cree Lighting ; GE Lighting; Leotek ; Philips and Philips Hadco.
These LED streetlights will be used to replace existing 400 watt, 250 watt, 150 watt, and 100/70 watt HPS roadway lights.
Complete bids must be submitted to the IAMU by Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. Central Time. Questions and requests for clarification may be submitted to Ms. Anne Kimber at email@example.com until Monday, April 21, 2014.
