The city of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada is continuing its program to convert existing streetlights to energy efficient LED streetlight fixtures. Additionally, the city is planning ahead for future placement of LED streetlights in new community developments. Lethbridge currently owns and maintains approximately 4,652 streetlights. The city has issued a Request for Quotations to qualify a supplier of LED streetlights for current retrofit projects, as well as new installations.
According to the bid document, the city would like the flexibility to interchange one manufacturers product with that of another manufacturer without loss of photometric performance. Therefore, even though the the city has selected Leotek Electronics, of Milpitas, California, as the preferred fixture, they will consider all products which are photometric equivalents. The product specification, where possible, can be applied to vertically mounted decorative post top luminaires which will be used on local roads. The RFQ is for the supply of both cobra head and decorative post top-style LED fixtures.
Bids will be evaluated in a two stage process. Stage I will determine if all mandatory requirements have been met. Only submissions qualified through the first stage will be considered in the second stage. Stage II will evaluate and score each submission based on rated criteria which is available in the bid document.
