The city of Los Angeles, California, has issued an Advertisement for Bids, for the purchase and installation of LED streetlights in the city’s Sun Valley district. This project is a continuation of the city’s ongoing conversion from existing streetlighting technology to energy efficient solid-state lighting. The upcoming installation includes converting existing high voltage streetlight systems to low voltage, installation of additional poles to bring lighting levels to existing standards, as well as converting several existing high pressure sodium (HPS) streetlights to LED streetlights.
According to the bid document, the project includes the purchase of twenty Cree XSP2 roadway fixtures and four Leotek fixtures. The project is funded by a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and is expected to cost about $175,800.
There is a mandatory pre-bid meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Los Angeles Public Works building.
