The Township of Lower Southampton, Pennsylvania, has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the purchase and installation of up to three hundred LED streetlights. The Township project is funded by a grant through the Reinvestment Development Authority Casino Grant (RDACG). Funds for the grants are generated from electronic game and slot machine revenue from regional casinos. The Lower Southampton LED streetlight project is valued at approximately $250,000.
According to the bid document, the scope of work includes removing and replacing three hundred existing mercury vapor cobrahead streetlights along several commercial streets in the township. The new LED streetlight fixtures will be mounted on existing poles. The new fixtures will be installed on Bustleton Pike, Street Road, Bristol Pike, Brownsville Road, and Philmont Avenue. Bidders are required to choose LED fixtures from the approved list of manufacturers which include Philips Roadview, Cree, Philips Gardco, Lighting Science Group Roadway, Cooper, and Stouch Lighting. Approved equivalents will also be considered.
A non-mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at the Township Administration Building. Complete bids must be submitted electronically via the PennBid Program by September 10, 2012. Specifications, bid documents and solicitation details are available here.
