The Michigan Energy Office has issued a Request for Proposals for matching grants for Michigan communities and Downtown Development Authorities pursuing installations of LED streetlights. The purpose of the grants is to encourage installations of energy efficient streetlighting as Michigan communities upgrade existing lighting. Grants will range from $10,000 to a maximum of $20,000 and may be used to pay up to 50% of LED streetlight equipment costs. Any Michigan community or DDA that owns and operates it own streetlights is eligible to apply.
Each response will be evaluated on a 100 point scale including the following eligibility requirements: proposal quality and completeness of work, experience of organization/project team, project feasibility and impact, program priorities, and project preference.
Complete proposals must be submitted to the Michigan Energy Office by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2014. Applicants may be asked to make an oral presentation to clarify certain aspects of their proposal. The full bid document is available here.
