The city of Milpitas, California, has issued an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the purchase of cobrahead LED streetlights for an upcoming installation. Specifically, the city plans to install retrofit LED streetlight fixtures on the city’s roadways. Plans include the purchase of up to 1,000 LED streetlight fixtures.
According to the bid document, the city plans to install 500 70-watt equivalent LED streetlight fixtures and 500 100-watt equivalent LED streetlight fixtures. The city plans to use LED retrofit kits to replace existing cobrahead high pressure sodium (HPS) streetlights.
Bidders are required to submit bids for fixtures limited to the following manufacturers:
American Electric Lighting
No other manufacturers will be considered for this bid solicitation. All LED streetlights submitted for this bid must be on the Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) approved list in order to be eligible for rebates. The project is expected to commence by June 30, 2014.
Questions and requests for clarifications may be submitted until Wednesday, March 12, 2014 through Public Purchase. Complete bids must be submitted electronically to the city of Milpitas, California, by Friday, March 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. PST. The bid document can be accessed here.
