The US Department of Energy’s Municipal Solid-State Street Lighting Consortium (MSSLC)has extended the deadline for submitting responses to the National Streetlighting Inventory. Currently, the MSSLC has received over three hundred submissions representing streetlight inventories throughout the United States.
The goals of the inventory include:
Establishing a more reliable estimate of streetlights in the United States
Developing a clearer picture of street lighting ownership models
Developing a better understanding of streetlight energy use
The National Streetlighting Inventory will assist in the formulation of national and local policies which could facilitate local conversion to LED streetlights.
The survey, which can be found here, consists of twenty questions. The expected completion time is approximately 15 minutes.
