The Port of San Diego, California, has announced an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for the purchase and installation of LED streetlights for various Tideland locations in the San Diego area. This project, which is a culmination of a study conducted by Environmental Land Use Management of the Green Port Program, will replace all of the existing streetlights throughout Tideland locations with LED streetlight fixtures and luminaires. The team’s assessment determined that LED streetlights would match or improve existing light levels. Approximately 312 existing streetlights will be replaced with LED streetlights.
Project locations include all of the streetlights located in the following areas: Pepper Park, National City; Coronado Tidelands Park, Coronado; Harbor Island Drive, San Diego; Shelter Island Drive, San Diego; North Harbor Drive, San Diego; and North Harbor Drive Bridge, San Diego.
Manufacturer specifications for bidders include Cree Lighting and Philips Lumec. According to the plan specifications Harbor Island Drive includes 66 LED streetlights from Cree Lighting, North Harbor Drive Bridge includes 22 LED streetlights from Philips Lumec, North Harbor drive includes 80 LED streetlights from Cree Lighting, Pepper Park includes 9 LED streetlights from Cree Lighting, Shelter Island Drive includes 64 LED streetlights from Cree Lighting, and Coronado Tidelands Park includes 7 LED streetlights from Cree Lighting.
An optional pre-bid conference is scheduled for Monday, November 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Questions and requests for clarification may be submitted to the contracts administrator, Carlos Santiago, through the eBid system until Friday, November 8, 2013. Complete bids must be submitted by Monday, November 18, 2013. The project is scheduled to commence within 120 days of the awarding of the project.
