Riverhead, New York, has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for sixty-six LED post-top luminaires. The RFP is part of Riverhead’s first deployment of LED streetlights. The initiative aligns with the town’s goals of reducing both energy consumption and costs in the community. In late 2011, the town council assessed solid-state lighting technology and determined that when resources became available, the city’s goal would be to consider changing all of the Riverhead’s streetlights to LEDs.
According to the bid document, the designated LED fixture for the Riverhead street project is the GE Evolve LED post top luminaire. However, the purchaser will also consider approved equivalents. Photometric requirements include a correlated color temperature (CCT) of 4100 Kelvin and a color rendering index (CRI) of ≥ 65. Proposals must include LM-79 and LM-80 reports.
Completed bids must be submitted to the town clerk of Riverhead, New York, by 4:00 p.m. on March 21, 2012. Bids will be opened and read aloud at 11:00 a.m. on March 23, 2012. Plans and specifications may be downloaded from the town website.
