The city of San Jacinto, California, seeks bids for the purchase of LED streetlights.
The San Jacinto project is funded by an award from the US Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program. This program is locally administered by the California Energy Commission (CEC). Total funding provided for the LED streetlight project is $151,800. City officials hope install up to 400 LED streetlight fixtures. The final number of fixtures will be based on bid submissions.
According to the bid document, all fixtures submitted in response to the bid must be found on the Southern California Edison (SCE) list of pre-approved fixtures. However, not all fixtures on the SCE list meet the specifications required for the upcoming project. The city’s bid document provides detailed project specifications including photometric performance which includes a Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) of ≥4,000-5000 Kelvin and a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of ≥70. The city will replace existing high pressure sodium streetlights with 45 watt and 90 watt equivalent LED streetlight fixtures, resulting in estimated annual savings of $30,000.
Completed bids must be submitted to the City Clerk of the City of San Jacinto by May 10, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. Proposals must be submitted on the forms provided in the Invitation to Bid. Complete bid documents can be found here.
