The city of Seattle, Washington, has issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for the purpose of identifying vendors to supply LED streetlight luminaires for the city’s collector and arterial roadways. As part of its ongoing commitment to convert existing roadway lighting to energy efficient LED streetlights, the city plans to install up to 1,500 LED luminaires. There are no minimum qualifications for vendors, however, all vendors must meet specifications established by Seattle City Light. The specifications can be found in the bid document.
According to the bid document, vendors may only submit bids for LED luminaires manufactured by Cree Lighting or Leotek Electronics. Only bids for those fixtures will be considered. In addition to the LED streetlights, the city will also be installing house side shields on over one hundred of the newly installed fixtures to address house side backlighting problems. The project is scheduled to begin by October 9, 2013.
Complete bids must be submitted to the city of Seattle by Monday, August 26, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. The complete bid document can be found here.
