In July 2013, the state of Washington established a state-wide contract, IFB #00313, for streetlight poles and roadway luminaires, including LED streetlights, for the state Department of Transportation, Washington state agencies, and members of the Washington state purchasing cooperative. The state estimated purchases of approximately $800,000 over the two year period of the contract. Recently, the state issued an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for a new contract for the un-awarded portion of IFB#00313, which is focused exclusively on LED streetlights. The project has an estimated value of $200,000.
According to the bid document, bidders will submit proposals with a pricing structure for the following manufacturers: Acuity Brands (including Lithonia and Holophane), Cooper Lighting, Dialight, Leotek Electronics, King Luminaire, and Philips (including Lumec, Gardco, and Day-Brite).
This contract has an initial term of two years, with the potential of extensions not to exceed eight years.
An optional pre-bid meeting is scheduled for February 5, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., at the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services, 1500 Jefferson St. SE, Room 2332, Olympia, WA 98501. Although it is not mandatory, bidders are encouraged to attend.
Questions and requests for clarification may be submitted to Nathan Hayes, procurement coordinator, until five days prior to the bid due date. Complete bids must be submitted to the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services by Thursday, February 20, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. The bid document can be downloaded here.
