San Marcos, California, USA

Replace 250-350 existing city-owned high pressure sodium streetlights with LED fixtures

Long term initiative

Replace all existing streetlights with LED fixtures. Because San Marcos adopted a rural lighting standard (due to its proximity to the Palomar Observatory) the city has significantly fewer streetlights than other cities of similar size. Total estimated cost $1.5-2.75 million.
